Translation for Immigration and Citizenship

If you’re applying for U.S. residency or citizenship, you’ll likely need to submit official documents in English. When these documents are in another language, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires certified translations.

What Is a Certified Translation?

A certified translation includes a signed statement from the translator affirming that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he/she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English. The statement is then presented to a notary public, who acknowledges the translator’s signature.
