apostar todas as fichas - (ref. ao pôquer) apostar tudo em uma mão. (Allin, 2018). Em outras palavras, arriscar todo o dinheiro em uma jogada, colocando o restante das fichas no pote, que é a soma das apostas feitas pelos jogadores. Aparentemente, o termo pote deriva de jackpot (bolada). Esta expressão pode ser usada literal ou figurativamente. (Pot). ✰ "Going all-in is a pivotal moment in any poker hand." virar uma fera; ficar uma arara, ficar maravilhado / nas nuvens - (Go ape). Este idiomatismo é usado nas acepções de:
1. ficar extremamente zangado com algo ou alguém; virar uma fera, ficar uma arara. ✰ When the customer found out someone had damaged his car, he went ape, yelling and shouting in frustration. (Quando o freguês descobriu que alguém havia danificado seu carro, ele ficou uma fera, gritando de frustração.)
2. ficar extremamente animado ou entusiasmado; ficar nas nuvens. ✰ The fans went ape over the band's surprise reunion concert, and the energy in the stadium was electric. (Os fãs ficaram maravilhados com o show surpresa de reunião da banda, e a energia no estádio foi eletrizante.)
