pedir algo de joelho; ajoelhar-se para pedir algo; agir com servidão / muita humildade - refere-se a um gesto simbólico, que pode ser físico, mas ger. é usado em um sentido metafórico. A frase alude a um pedido sincero e urgente, muitas vezes uma forma de mendicância. Também pode ser usada para indicar o reconhecimento da superioridade de alguém com um gesto de submissão. (Go down on). ✰ "Pupils watched in amazement as their teacher's boyfriend went down on bended knee to propose to her." (Classroom, 2013).
