entrar em uma vaquinha / na vaquinha - participar de uma coleta de dinheiro (uma vaquinha) para uma finalidade comum. Esta expressão, em uso desde o final do século XIX, consiste de um trocadilho, já que, além de "coleta", kitty também quer dizer "gatinho". (Feed the kitty). ✰ "I can't make a big donation this year, but I'm willing to feed the kitty something." (Ibidem). (Eu não posso fazer uma grande doação este ano, mas estou disposto a entrar na vaquinha com alguma coisa.)

sentir fome de (algum alimento) - (esp. britânico) sentir-se um pouco faminto.
