pintar e bordar; conseguir/fazer o que quiser com (alguém); aproveitar-se de (alguém) - (Have one's way with, trad. própria). Esta expressão idiomática tem vários significados:
1. dominar, controlar ou atingir o resultado desejado sobre algo ou alguém; pintar e bordar. ✰ The toddler had his way with the toys, playing with them and scattering them all over the house. (A criança pintava e bordava com os brinquedos, brincando com eles e espalhando-os pela casa toda.)
2. manipular ou dominar alguém para conseguir o que quer. ✰ The seasoned negotiator had his way with the inexperienced counterpart. (O negociador experiente conseguiu o que queria com a contraparte inexperiente.)
3. (obsol.) tirar proveito sexual de outra pessoa, o que pode sugerir estupro ou coerção, esp. se o contexto envolvente sugerir não consentimento; aproveitar-se. ✰ "She tossed me around, held me down, and had her way with me." (Nauman, 2020). (Ela me jogou para todos os lados, me segurou e se aproveitou de mim.)

estar doido da cabeça; estar leléu; ser maluco / tolo / estúpido; demonstrar pouca sensatez -
⚠ (gír., pej.) Dizer ou fazer algo absurdo, ridículo, estúpido, louco, insensato. (Have rocks). ✰ I can't believe Joel invested all his money in that risky venture; he must have rocks in his head. (Não acredito que o Joel investiu todo o seu dinheiro naquele empreendimento arriscado; ele deve estar doido da cabeça.)

Esta gíria, muitas vezes usada em resposta a uma declaração ou ação bizarra, data de aproximadamente 1940. Presumivelmente, quer dizer que a pessoa tem pedras na cabeça em vez de cérebro. Já o termo rock-head surgiu por volta de 1669, na Inglaterra, e originalmente designava uma pessoa cuja cabeça se dizia ser feita de pedra (i.e., um cabeça-dura). Atualmente é usado na América do Norte para se referir a alguém estúpido; o mesmo que blockhead. É também uma gíria utilizada para um usuário de cocaína.

2. estar obcecado com o mundo artístico; ter estrelas nos olhos. ✰ "No wonder this Yorkie has stars on her eyes – she was named after Eva Longoria!" (Shady, 2011). (Não é de se admirar que essa Yorkie tenha estrelas nos olhos – ela recebeu o nome de Eva Longoria!)
