(um) pouquinho / tiquinho / bocadinho - Esta expressão é muitas vezes traduzida erroneamente para o português. Há uma clara diferença entre "a little" e "a little bit". "A little" é (1) um pouco, ou (2) uma pequena quantidade (de alguma coisa), ao passo que "bit" quer dizer "pedacinho (de alguma coisa)" (A little, 2021; Bit, 2021), por exemplo, "bacon bits" (pedacinhos de "bacon"). Portanto, "a little bit of bacon" seria um pouquinho ou um tiquinho de bacon. Se você perguntar a alguém se ele/ela fala inglês e a pessoa disser "a little", ela quer dizer "um pouco". Se disser "a little bit", ela quer dizer "um pouquinho".
