odor / cheiro de santidade - piedade exagerada ou hipócrita, suposição de superioridade moral. Esta expressão foi usada para descrever a santidade na Idade Média (em meados do século XVIII). Naquela época, acreditava-se que o cadáver de um indivíduo santo exalava um cheiro doce. Hoje é geralmente usada de forma irônica.
