1. expor alguém, tentando condená-lo por algo negativo que tenha feito; delatar. (Caguetar; Dedurar). ✰ Feeling guilty, he decided to rat on his friend to the teacher, revealing that his friend had copied their homework from someone else. (Sentindo-se culpado, ele decidiu dedurar seu amigo para o professor, revelando que seu amigo havia copiado o dever de casa de outra pessoa.)

1. arrasar completamente; não deixar/ficar pedra sobre pedra. (Não deixar). ✰ "During the civil war, the formal educational system was razed to the ground." (Hoehne). (Durante a guerra civil, o sistema de educação formal não ficou pedra sobre pedra.)
2. destruir e varrer completamente. ✰ "King Lewis held nothing in Italy but the lanterne of Genes, which afterward the Genouais razed to the ground." (Gainsford apud Martin, G.). (O rei Luís não tinha nada na Itália a não ser a Lanterna de Gênova, que depois os genoveses varreram do mapa.)
