This dictionary of idioms is just a small sample of the Dicionário Inglês-Português: Expressões, Ditados e Provérbios, which is more comprehensive and up-to-date. The full version was released on March 15, 2025 and is now available on Amazon. manter a cabeça fora da água; manter as finanças no azul - evitar sucumbir a dificuldades, tipicamente dívidas. (Keep one's head above). manter a cabeça baixa; ficar cabisbaixo - permanecer inconspícuo (sem chamar a atenção) em tempos difíceis ou perigosos. (Keep one's head down). During times of conflict, it's often wise to keep one's head down and avoid getting involved in unnecessary drama. manter a mente focada / centrada em (algo) - (One's mind). "Studies indicate that gratitude can keep your mind on positive thinking, decreasing depression, stress, and anxiety all at once." não se meter em (algo) - deixar de se envolver de maneira intrusiva ou intrometida em algo que não é da sua conta ou responsabilidade. (Keep one's nose out of). When it comes to their relationship, it's best to keep your nose out of it and let them work things out on their own.
